memory stick and ME

im not sure if this is a problem with ME or not but im going to see if it is. i have a memor stick pro and no memory stick pro slot on my computer so i got a memory stick pro reader that plugs into a USB port. my first problem with this is that only sometimes does the computer actaully know that the memory stick reader is plugged in. i have it plugged into a USB hub because i only have 3 USB ports. the next problem is that if i can access the information on the stick and i try to move something off of it sometimes the computer makes some sort of scrathing noise that sounds like its an internal noise like the internal beep. then the window closes and it no longer knows the memory stick reader is there. if anybody has any idea if this is an ME problem or just a sucky computer problem in general te help would be appreciated. thanks
