Mtmcdai.386

I have Windows 98SE. During startup it hangs. I went thru step by step during startup and found the hang to occur when the following was happening: C:\MTM\MTMCDAI.386. What is this? Why might it be hanging? Can it be corrected? Thanks, Brian

That's a virtual device driver file for your Mitsubishi CD-ROM drive.

Perhaps your CD is failing?

You can check out this link for reinstall help:

Well, if your boot proces is failing at that point, as you say, then I would try to uninstall the CD and then reinstall it. Perhaps one of those virtual drivers are corrupted.

The boot process does not seem to fail....it is slow....probably holds for 2+ minutes, then proceeds. Should I still try to uninstall? How do I reinstall without a driver or is it on my drive and will be detected when I reinstall? Thanks, Brian
