BT Broadband Software won't install

I'm trying to install the software/driver for BT Voyager 205 router, every time it gets the installation part the following error message comes up.

cant get registry value key-software\bt voyager 205\asdl router\asdl value = driver type.

My pc has had a problem with a couple of virus's, I think I've got rid of them, but they appear to have done damage to the registry files. I've run various registry checking programs, (didn't fix it) and pc doctors.
I have downloaded the driver files from bt and tried to install that way too, but pc tells me there is a problem with 'ini. files'
Can anyone help me?????????

See if you can install the software while in Safe Mode.

Hi Indi, I've had exactly the same issue this weekend - Please advise how you got on in SAFE mode...

Well I think I had the same problem, except I was trying to install a different modem. Did you have other modems installed before you got 205, thenm you have to uninstall these ones and then your able to install the 205. This is how I did it. Good Luck
