Win ME Won't connect to internet

Morning everyone,
I am in the process of cleaning up an old PC running ME for my in-laws. When we try to get to the internet it throws an error that says, "iexplore caused an error in NOD32.DLL" and that it cannot open IE. I click ok on that and it throws up the same error except it replaces "NOD32.DLL" with "<unknown>". I hit ok on that one and an internet page opens but it will not connect to the internet.

I verivied internet connectivity with a laptop on the same connection. And the wireless connection works as well.

Any ideas?

Re: Win ME Won't connect to internet

Welcome back to TSF

Sounds like the system is infected, read here
http://www.threatexpert.com/files/nod32.dll.html

Look over these http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html
If you cannot complete any of the steps for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed, and post your logs in Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help; where an Analyst will assist you. However, it is very important to make mention of any of the steps that you were not able to complete.

After you’ve posted your logs, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are very busy.

DO NOT post any logs in this thread or the Microsoft Support Forum(s)
