Question One last try

Is is possible to upgrade my HP model 8756 desktop from ME to 2000? Would like to continue using it but ME is getting pretty bad (if it weren't already).

Re: One last try

If it ran ME ( pardon the language) it should run Win 2000 fine

Re: One last try

Always another question, do you all think I can upgrade all the way to XP. Checking with the HP site shows a few drivers for the model with "xp" OS on it.

Re: One last try

How much memory does it have? XP requires a lot more memory than Win 2000

Re: One last try

hp shows xp drivers for your specific model. IMO, if you have 512 megs of ram, you should be able to upgrade without much problems (better to have 1 gig).

Re: One last try

Yes, I upgraded to 1 gig and also upgraded to a 1 gig processor with separate video card. Thanks to my son-in-law. Got some better performance but still the software requirements stop me from upgrading there (like requires 2000/XP/etc) Will give it a shot and get back to a, Thanks
