[SOLVED] Win98...16 and 2 colors?????
Why would I get only a choice of 2 or 16 colors after installing Win98?? What can I do to solve this ugly (lol) problem? I can't even install a game from 1998 now. Thanx. Stevo

Re: Win98...16 and 2 colors?????
I have tried to find the driver(s) for the video and for the sound card...but after MUCH trying...I have had no success with the ones I have tried to install. They seem to have all the right numbers and will install but no fix for the problem. I will bring more info to the library tomorrow and try to post it here(as far as my system is concerned). I will use "Belarc Advisor" and get what ever you need. What do you need to know?

Re: Win98...16 and 2 colors?????
Hello again AliveAndKickin. This should be an easy fix for you. Again click on START on your desktop. The ninth program, (I think) from bottom to top is your Windows update site link. Double click on this. If you are able to get on the internet with your existing video driver, click on CUSTOM. If all goes well this should give your sound card and video drivers if they are still supported. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 98 and ME in 2006 for PRIORITY updates, I believe. Their will be PRIORITY updates though; up to 2006 for your system. EXAMPLE; IE 6 SP 1 and additional updates. TRY the CUSTOM selection first. If this doesn't work for your video and sound cards you will have to search for the drivers manually from the manufacturer's web sites.

Re: Win98...16 and 2 colors?????
Well according to the eMachines site
http://www.emachines.com/support/pro...el=eTower_733i you have an integrated graphics "Intel® Direct 3D 2x AGP (shared memory)" and your chipset is the Intel® 810 chipset I went on the Intel site and looked for the Windows 98 graphics drivers for the 810 and got this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...7&submit=Go%21 Try that out and see what it gives |

Re: Win98...16 and 2 colors?????
Hey this is because of Display driver probel. if you have display driver CD. then try to re install it. some it happens that, display properties will be reset when u install some software. don't worry, u install the display driver once again
