Wish to reUpgrade system to winme

In trying to upgrade from win98 to winme, with 22 minutes left for loading I get

Application Error
SUWIN caused a general protection fault in module user.exe at 000C:0B47

I did not uninstall win98 before this attempt.

How can I fix this, please? I want my ME back.

BTW...I used a win98se disk with win95 on it for compliance. I don't know what that means but there it is.

I Googled this and found in almost every case that it was caused by an incorrect setting in the BIOS. When you fire up the machine enter the BIOS setup and select "Load fail-safe defaults" (or "Factory defaults or similar). Save and exit. Test it now.
