[SOLVED] Upgrade...uh...I think!!

I want to upgrade to a Windows that is supported by Microsoft. I have WinMe now....what is the best I can do...as far as upgrading? What do I have to do to upgrade? I have a Celeron processor 755MHz....128mb RAM. It is an emachine ....oh, never mind....What are the requirements to upgrade?

Up your ram to at least 256, 512, or 1 gig of ram would be better.
Install xp, it will work....anything is better than ME...imho

Like manic said, the more memory, the better, or else you'll be bogged down by the swap file exchanging data between RAM and the hard drive.
Also another tool to help you check compatibility:

That's the Windows XP Upgrade Advisor. Microsoft doesn't have a download page for it anymore (they're pushing people to use Vista), but the file is still on their server.
