Present problems: Both cd drives have write and copying problems.First both cd drives do not show up in the do not appear in the send to menu In my computer when trying to open the D: drive this error message comes up:D:\ is not accesible. The device is not ready.Retry or Cancel. Drive E: opens normally. Both drives do not
appear in the send to menu.Window Explorer 6 has no wizard to copy or write data to the cd drive. Also when copying data directly to the cd this error window comes up:"Error Copying File"along with "make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." message. The floppy drive has this continual error
message,"A:\ is not accessible. The device is not ready,Retry or Cancel. I have also tried without success various disk copying utilities.
The Retry button produces no result. Thus I cannot save data such as drivers which is needed for the new installation.

The system can get internet and browsers like google and msn But cannot get streaming videos like"you tube".Also windows98 does not support "Firefox".Thus I appreciate the forum's help and suggestions in the cd and floppy drive problems and in upgrading to windows xp pro along if possible of getting firefox and steaming video like you tube.Thank you all Tech Support!I plan to make some donations by Western Union soon. Good to be with you all!

Re: windows98 upgrade issues

you can load your xp cd and and cilick check for system compatibility.then check my system automatictly.select no and then next. it will tell you that the report will be saved under windows/upgrade txt. You can also saveas the report under txt. in your documents. that being said, a 10 gig hardrive is too small with all the updates that are recommended and your pc100 ram is getting hard to find that you need more of.
