Stuck in MS-DOS
I own an old windows 98 Hewlett Packard Pavilion, which had installed on it both windows-98 and MS-dos. While trying to run an ms-dos based program, I accidently switched the computer over to ms-dos, and I don't know how to get it back to win98. Does anyone know how to switch operating systems on this type of machine?

Re: Stuck in MS-DOS
You're not very clear there.
Are you talking about a full-screen command prompt within the Windows 98 GUI? If so pressing alt-enter should toggle between full screen and windowed. If you're saying you picked DOS mode in the shutdown menu, typing exit should restart Windows (in most cases). If that doesn't work, then ctrl-alt-del to restart will be the only way. In reluctant cases, you may need to hit the reset button. If you're saying that now when you boot you only have DOS, then type win at the command prompt like the above user said. |
