Arg my hard drive disappeared

what the?!? so the other day i went to access my d drive and doh! its not there!? i barely ever use my 2nd harddrive but i do store my larger files on it.... and now it has totaly disappeared on start up it doesnt auto detect it like it used to.... i no no sign of harddrive failure (no noises and stuff) and it seems it just happened within the past week.... i checked all the connections and they are fine.. im not a total beginner but im about intermediate... so my question is what else can i do to trouble shoot this problem? thanks in advance

does the drive show up in the list of detected HD's on bootup ?

Hello bobhope and Welcome to Tech Support Forums.............

Have you checked in the bios to see if it is set to auto detect the drives.

Is this drive a slave to the master?

it doesnt auto detect at start up it says not found..... its my slave
i have it just to store all my legal mp3s and such >:)

Well the first two things I would do would be to replace the IDE cable and then plug a different power connector to the hard drive.
