Update any and all drivers to the latest versions (video,chipset, audio, etc). Make sure your systems hardware meets or preferably exceeds the minimum requirements for the games. Try turning down some of the visual effects to see if that helps. Install the latest version of DirectX from the microsoft website. Go to the games websites and download and install any patches offered. And finally
ensure that your system is virus/ spyware free.
