Welcome to TSF.

If this is what I think it is ( ), it should be simple to fix.

Get a Windows 98 bootdisk and boot from it. Load it without the cdrom support. Then at the prompt type in fdisk /mbr and hit your Enter key. Do a ctrl+alt+del to restart and take out your floppy. See if that will fix it.

I think the bootdisk will boot, no matter what operating system you use. I use a 98 bootdisk with WindowsXP because it has DOS on it.

hey guys,

also if you have a ethernet card in it try and taking it out then booting up. I've seen it sometimes the ether card halting the startup at the black screen with the white cursor, after i took the card out it booted. It might or might not work. good luck

Did you change the bios to boot from the floppy drive first?
