Windows 98 SE MS-DOS Error
Hey,
Yesterday I reformatted my old computer and installed Windows 98 SE on it. Everything worked flawlessly and after setting up the computer I wanted to install some software to it, so I did. After doing so I restarted the PC and after it prompted me for my login I seen the window with the drums playing and it said "Updating System Settings" and then about 3 seconds later the MS-DOS window pops up with an error. MS-DOS Illegal Operation Fault Location: 00C9:0E57 Interrupt in service: none Any ideas why this shows up? I thought it may have been related to the software being installed so I booted up in safe mode and removed the software but it still gave me the error on a normal system boot. Thanks in advance. |

Right click on My Computer->Properties->Device Manager and see if there are any conflicting devices (you can tell by the symbols to their left if they are conflicting). Did you install all the drivers for all your pc components?
