Hello...I turned the computer off before leaving for the weekend...came back and ME wouldn't load. Loads to the ME screen and stays there. When I boot off the ME start-up disk I get the "Data error reading drive c:". I have two hard drives, in the bios I swopped the primary and secondary drives to boot off the other drive. When using the intended drive d: as c:, drive d: (original c:) is recognized, and access is available to all the files? I've run Norton virus scan on both drives and found no virus. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
I've loaded HJT on drive D:, however, it doesn't seem to check drive d:? Sounds to me like your original C: drive is bad. Hopefully you were able to back it up to the D: drive.
Your HJT log lookd OK to me, although I am not even a rookie at that yet.

There are two fisical drives, one older drive now D: and the newer drive now C:. C: drive one day gets stuck on the first ME screen past the bios (during boot) so I alternate the drives (switching primary's in the Bios) in order to get the system up.....the original C: is recognized and files are accessable, BUT ME won't load? Bad drive? What's gone bad with the drive?
