cannot load window ME in my packard bell

my computer is packard bell
window ME version

I can not load my window ME

I have already used packard bell recovery disk

But, it still fails

It shows SMART Failure predicted on Hard Disk =0

please advise ???

The smart failure error means your Hard Drive failed and you'll need a new one.

can we format the hard disk or hard drive firstly, and then re-boot our window ME ??

if you had ME on it with fat32 you can try and format it with a boot disk for ME from bootdisk.com boot to the ME floppy, at the A:> promt, type format c: notice the space after format. But if your hardrive has failed, it will not reconize c: have you had 2000 0r xp on there with a ntfs?
