Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this thing?

I have an older HP with Win ME. When I get the error message and click to close it, I lose what I was working on.

I'm an old guy with very little knowledge in this field, so please be gentle.....

I think it's.....lexplore.exe has caused an error and will now close

iexplore.exe is Internet Explorer, are you using this browser?.

You can get rid of it but you will need another browser.

Do you have more info on the rror?. Does it happen in certain websites?.

Yes I use Internet Explorer primarily, I also have Mozilla Firefox.

I don't know what else to say about the error message, I don't think it's any certain websites.

are you also getting any errors with firefox? what version of mise?

Don't think I've ever gotten it with firefox, guess I can quit Internet Explorer if that's all this amounts too. I was afraid this was some kind of virus or something I needed to get out of my machine.

mise.....? I don't know what that is

just was seeing if you were getting shutdowns in firefox or other browsers to see if there was some other problem.

Most likely since you are using an older operating system and an older computer its just the sometimes webpages can use up your resources to the point where it would shutdown or freeze internet explorer - especially since the page and the scripts in the pages must download to your computer to run.

You can try turning stuff off you dont need thats running in the background.

While trying to play a video received through email on real player today, received this message.

lexplore has caused an error in FLASH 9F. OCX and will now close.
If you continue to experince problems try restarting your computer.
