ok so i got thru almost all of the installization process and when it got to the detecting hardware it just went crazy, i knew it had a virus before and i just was hoping that if i formatted and reinstalled it would resolve the virus, well no.. and now it acting like its goina finish the setup then it starts the beep code over and over again, espically when i just touch the mouse. then it restarts itself and goes thru scandisk.. im wondering if this virus has spread to my mobo b.c. im almost sure that the hdd will hafta be replaced.. so if anyone has any ideas on what is infected on this comp plz lemme know, or if there is any kinda diagnostic i could use to tell me what is wrong before i go and try to put in a new hdd and mobo. thanks

HI,
What do you say that we start over with the installation and see what happens. Follow this process: Obtain or download a boot disk: from here:: http://www.bootdisk.com Select the option in BIOS setup to boot from A: as the first in line, followed by the CDRom and the hard disk last. Set your PnP setting in BIOS setup to Enabled Save and exit Put the boot disk in the A; Drive and start your computer When loaded, type in FDisk Select the option to delete all partitions Create a new partition Make the partition active Shut down the computer and reboot with the bootdisk still in A: Type in Format and it will format the disk you have partitioned Shut down the computer when done (quirk of mine) When it boots back up select to load with CDRom Support and place the OS disk in the CDRom. When it boots up, type setup and away it will go and install your OS. (hope I didn't miss anything) OR IF YOU WANT PICTURES AND A TECHNICAL EXPLANATION USE THIS LINK: http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/fdisk/fdisk1.htm Tell us of any glitches along the way. |
