about:buster help! Please!

Hey

I am working on a freinds computer (win 98) to get it cleaned up - what a mess.

Well we have this about:blank hijack I would really like to get rid of, but I can't seem to download this recommended program - about:buster. I have downloaded it twice from different sites - including yours and when I go to open it off the desktop I just get his box that says something about it not being formated right or being an email attachment? What?

Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I can get started.

And Gosh shouldn't this kind of CRAZINESS be illegal??? What a frggin waste of time to salvage a perfectly good computer!!!!

Autumn, download Hijack This (use either the link in my siggy or another Security Team member) and post the log in the Security section. There's a good chance that the Security Team can help you get rid of that!

While you're at it....

If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro. Make sure to select the Autoclean option. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a full system scan.
