OS: win me

black monitor

the latest of my problems in me has been a black monitor that won't come up unless i restart after i have left my computer but not shut down. i run ad-adware, norton live update and spybot and trend micro scans regualry. i'm sure i have a myriad of viruses or something but seems to be new problem each day, the black monitor being the latest.

thanks

I would try a different video card. What are the specs on your video card?

Try to cut off your screen saver and/or your power save functions. You can get to both under Display Properties/Screensaver, though the powersave is in its own properties sheet that can be gotten to by clicking a button by the Energy* logo.
