Disc Drive Help
im currently using windows ME and for some reason my computer wont recognize my 2nd disc drive. my computer is a compaq presario 5000 series. if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it

Does the BIOS see it? What is in the Device Manager, any reference to it? What controller is it installed on, Primary or Secondary?

Is this a cd-rom or another hard drive?

When the computer boots does the light on the drive blink?
Did this drive work before or is it a new drive?

Sounds like the drive is bad. Replace it.

Well if the power light is not flashing at boot that means it is not getting power. If you wanted to diagnose this, this would require changing the power supply unit. And it may not solve your issue.
