What the $#@% my computer won't turn on.

I recently got a new vaio laptop so I put my old win98 comp in my basement for storage and didn't plug it in or anything for 4 months. Now I went to plug it in to retrieve some files but it didn't turn on. Well the fan turned on but I couldn't get the cd drive to work or anything to appear on the monitor. Yes the power switch is on in back, but the red light next to the on switch turned on rather than the green one that usually does. The monitor is working fine because I had it on another computer and I'm not using a surge protector. any suggestions?

How long did you let the battery charge? You should charge overnight and try again.

Try it plugged in, then make sure you didn't drop it or anything like that.
