how to load the recovery disc in a new hard drive
I have a compaq presario laptop I got a new hard drive i do not know if I need only the recovery disk that came with the computer when I tried to load the thisk it display ( Loading windows 98 and some other stuf ) at the end takes me to an A: promt and I don't know waht is asking for if any one can help me please.

The procedure for Recovery can vary from model to model. Find your model # from the list on the Compaq site ... the manuals and restore procedures are all there for you to study --- http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h...&lang=en&cc=us A Windows-98 laptop is due for some hardware issues ... if running the Recovery with user-guide in hand doesn't help, you may want to test the hardware.
