Question Start up freeze

I just reformatted my hard drive it originally had NT on it. I install 98se on it now install went fine. But now when I restart the computer the Windows screen comes on and the little wave indicator on the bottom moves for a couple of seconds then freezes and the system stops to response.
What do I have to do? HELP

Welcome to the forums rickap7.

You may need to write zero's to the drive first. Then reinstall the OS.

Could you post a list of your hardware, Or at least the hard drive mfg.

Sometime the drivers for the motherboard will cure this problem!

Could you please list your hardware so we have a clue about where we are going to go with this..............:D
