Hi there...
I have an old Dell L500cx desktop that has a platform of Win98SE. I'm wondering if it is even possible to somehow configure it to use DSL instead of a dialup internet connection. If so, does anyone have any recommendations for a modem? Thanks much in advance! -juniorjim |

Re: Is it possible to have wireless on Win98SE?
juniorjim,
DSL is possible on WIN9X - as long as there are drivers for your DSL device for WIN9X. You mentioned Wireless in your post subject - wireless is the same - as long as the wireless device you're using has Win9X drivers. If you're using DSL - it really depends on the hardware provided by your DSL provider. Call them and see if they support Win9X. - John |

Re: Is it possible to have wireless on Win98SE?
Ok! I understand. What about the modem, though? I contacted support for the resident modem, and they said that I wouldn't be able to use wireless with that modem. If that's indeed true, do you have any suggestions as to a modem?
Knowing the DSL providers--just like the rest of the technological world--I'd think that getting Win9x-compatible wireless drivers through them might be rather difficult. Do you have any ideas about where else I could possibly locate these drivers, or no? Sorry! If you don't have any answers, no problem. --juniorjim |

Re: Is it possible to have wireless on Win98SE?
Just contacted my ISP, and this particular source does have something. So, my questions are null and void. :) Thanks for your time and service, though!
Have a great day. --juniorjim |
