Hyper Terminal problem

Hello All,

I tried to access the hyper terminal in 98se and it's not to be found! The help file says to go to start, programs, accessories, communications and to hyper terminal but it's not listed. I've read that it normally is default installed, any ideas why it's not there? I know I never deleted it.

Can it be installed?

I need it to communicate with a ham radio identifier project.

Thanks!

Re: Hyper Terminal problem

Hi Sparks51

Let's first check & see if it actually is already installed: perhaps the shortcut is just missing. Use Windows 98se's Search function, searching "My Computer" for "hypertrm.exe". If Search doesn't find it, then yes, you will have to install it.

To install it, you'll need either a Windows 98se installation CD, or the Windows 98se installation ".cab" files on your hard drive (usually in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs). You can use Add-Remove programs in the Control Panel to install it. In Add/Remove Programs, choose the "Windows Setup" tab, choose "Communications", and then choose "Details". Place a checkmark in the box in front of "HyperTerminal", click OK, and click Apply.

Best of luck!
. . . Gary
