Defrag

My computer is slower than molasses in January when trying to access the internet... so I got Roadrunner. My hard drive sounds like it's popping popcorn, then I finally get to where I want to be, but after a frustrating wait . So I'm trying to do a defrag and it only completes 2% of the defrag and then it goes back to 0% complete. I've tried doing the defrag in "safe mode" but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions on how to make this defrag work?

Do You by any chance have Norton Win Doctor? Cuz you can use that for sure, and its a great tool to fix up your overall computer hardrive problems.

Or look into getting a real defrag program like O&O Defrag or Perfect Disk 2000 or Diskeeper

Personally I like O&O the best.

Run Scandisk first. You may have errors on your drive that aren't allowing your Defrag to work.

Also make sure that there are no background programs running during disk defrag.
