I Tried to re-install my windows 98 program....then it wouldn't let me even into windows or any other thing. I then put in the rescue diskette. It tries to load and then comes up with A:
It also when trying to install Windows 98 says to me; "If you have HPFS or NTFS you must create MS-Boot partition. If you have Lantastic server or superstor compression disable it before running setup. See Setup.txt on setup disk 1 or the windows 98 compact disk. " I have no idea what any of that means. I Know that now when I restart my computer it tells me to put in the boot disk so when I do then it brings me up to the A: again. I typed in A: setup then it just sends me to installing win 98, which in return sends me to "if you have HPFS etc...... I am desperate and don't have a clue what to do now. Any help I will be eternally greatful. Thanks so much. Desperate

My computer won't even load the windows program. I just want it to be up and running. As it stands now the screen is blank and still continues to not load Windows 98. I hope this will help. If not I am truly sorry. I'm doing the best I can. |

what the group is trying to say is ...lets find out who makes the HARD DRIVE...then go to thier support page and download and run the diagnostics...open the case and see if you can read the drive from the lable on it...while your in their make sure all cable, wires and cards are seated... What "program" caused this problem in the first place...
