Low system resources and spyware
I am having trouble with low system resources when I start my Outlook Ex or IE. I have tried a number of things, last night I actually got the system up to 80 % while it was running idle, currently I am at 30-39 % ? Any ideas...?
I am also having major pop up problems. I run adware, HJT and cw schredder. I believe that I am missing something when i run HJT as I am not sure what to delete when the report show. Here is the latest log. PLEASE HELP ? Additionally, what caused this and how do I stop it from happening again ? No bugs...?
If there are no bugs...what else can I do ? I seem to keep having low system resources which I believe is coming from the system restore being active upon boot. (Dont know what to do about that) and I have offeroptimizer pop up problems when I open IE. Additionally if my system resources are hight (80%) or so, as soon as I activate IE or Outlook they crash down to about 30% . Thoughts ?

You may check and fix these two also:
O9 - Extra button: Dell Home - {08DCFC6C-B6E4-480C-95A4-FC64F37B787E} - http://www.dellnet.com/ (file missing) (HKCU) O16 - DPF: {34805D32-AD89-469E-8503-A5666AEE4333} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.104/2471afd708fa0e...etzip/RdxIE.cab Did you run a virus scan to make sure it's not a virus? If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro. Make sure to select the Autoclean option. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a full system scan.

Low system resources
Yes, I have all current updates to all my spywaremvirus and windows programs. I think the problem is coming form my system restore area. even though I shut it off manually after boot, when I reboot it always ON. My sytsem restore has not worked for awhile..back when I have had problems I did try to do a system restore and thought it was active, but when i searched for a restore point, I didnt have any to pick from. Could I have a something hiding in the restore logs ?
If so, how do I clean them out ? How do I fix the dell problems you told me to check out ? Last edited by Whacker : 11-11-2004 at 07:55 PM. |

Low system resources/ system restore
Ok, So we are clear...I have windows ME. I know where the settings are for system restore. How to enable it and how to disable it.
Problem..when I disable it, it promps me to reboot. When I reboot and recheck to see if system restore is selected or not, it IS. Which means, upon reboot it automatically sets itself active, even though I previously shut it off. .. So...if I shut off system restore, and dont reboot..my system resources get better...but if i leave it on, my system resources get very low. |

System restore system resources still uncorrected
Thanks for moving my post...However my problem still remains
Is system restore supposed to stay off after you turn it off and reboot ? Meaning after you reboot, if you go and check to see if its on, it should be OFF ? |
