Question Audio Level icon disappeared from system tray Win98

I've been running Win98 on an old machine for years. Suddenly now the system tray icon for audio level adjustment (icon is a loudspeaker), has disappeared from the system tray.

Anybody know how I can get the icon back into the system tray?

Thanks in advance.

I know you could get to it from control panel. I think it was under
sounds/multimedia. Been awhile. You may try going to device manager
and going to sounds, then right click properties and get onto the
options quicker.
