[SOLVED] Compaq 5140 Quick Restore
Type of computer: Compaq Presario 5140
Windows 98 Disks you have: Compaq Quick Restore(comes with quick restore, and software update) Problem: I am experiencing the vmx32.vxd(I believe) is required to run windows. I have looked at the Microsoft page for a solution and it lead me to have to reinstall windows. I have tried quick restore, i choose 1: quick restore, it goes to a black screen and has a Microsoft copyright on it. Then it goes to a green screen saying please remove QR disc, then press any keys to continue. I do and it reboots to the same thing a dos page saying vmx32.vxd is required to run windows. I looked through google, and compaq site for support, compaq told me for my model to go into bios mode and choose a option that wasn't there. I have seen people saying that you might have to format HD then use QR. |
