Windows 98 & 775 CPU's

Will windows 98 work with a 775 Intel CPU & Motherboard??? CPU is a Dual Core 2.2 Ghz with Asus P5GC-MX 945GC chipset.

Welcome to TSF
If you could get it to install it would run the processor as a single core. 98 did not support multi processors.

But will 98 see socket 775?

I was told that I would have a problem installing on it?

I Know of no reason it shouldn't.

Incase anybody else has this hassle, 98 2nd edition will install but this mobo has NO 98 Drivers. I am now putting in Asus P5PE Board which has 98 Drivers.

Hi Aub,

It's the 98 CD that has no drivers for the MB. If you can identify the MB try the makers site for the drivers. If no luck there try driversguide.com. They usually have it.
