how to connect to net in safe mode

I have a dell demension 4100 with windows ME, I installed at new sound card-soundblaster live 5.1-drivers loaded ok, to finish installation I was prompted to restart computer. Will not restart-windows protection error system halted--I started computer in safe mode and tried to uninstall drivers--error 0x80040201 an event was unable to invoke any of the subcribers--creative labs may have a fix for this. I need to know how to connect to the internet in safe mode. thank you, Snorman

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Unfortunately, The only choice you get is Safe Mode in Windows ME. Safe Mode with Networking did not become a feature until Windows 2000 and above

any ideas to get past the windows protection error/unistall drivers issues-right now my computer is toast

Boot into Safe Mode and use System Restore to a date BEOFRE you installed the drivers
