Best free hard drive and CPU cleaner
What is the best free hard drive cleaner out there that is compatible with Win 98? My mom is giving her CPU to someone else and wants me to clean it up for her. What are the things I need to do?

Re: Best free hard drive and CPU cleaner
giving away a CPU has no data on it, it merely processes the data. If you are looking for a hard drive cleaner, Boot and Nuke has a very good reputation and can be found here. http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Re: Best free hard drive and CPU cleaner
Jeremy-- if your mom is giving away the PC to someone who expects Windows to be installed on it, if you erase the drive with Darik's Boot & Nuke, you will want to reinstall Windows onto the hard drive after using 'dban'. (Boot & Nuke completely erases all data on the drive). If her computer came with either a Windows installation CD, or a 'Recovery Disk' - you can use your choice of one of those.
Best of luck . . . Gary
