Win ME Machine Power problem
I'm working on an EMachines PC running ME, and during a storm, a power outage occured. The system was shut down due to the power outage, and when power was restored, the machine will not power down (unless the power cord is removed) and also, no display shows on the monitor.
I opened the case, and after a visual inspection, no evidence of shorts or burns on any of the connectors were visible. I've removed the power supply, and can see no problems with this component. Upon reinstallation, the same problem(s) occur. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Brad Walden |

Re: Win ME Machine Power problem
Hi Brad
A few things to try - 1) When you removed the power supply, did you also re-seat the memory & video card? If you didn't already, try that. I'll assume, too, that you already unplugged & re-plugged the monitor cables & power cord. 2) If you've a compatible extra video card around, try that. 3) To make sure the monitor is still working, attach it to another PC. See if any of those steps help. . . . Gary
