Turbo. What is it?
Hello there,
I've recently got an old Windows95 computer and on this PC is a 'Turbo' button. When pressed in it goes from 75 to 60 and I just wanted to know what it's controlling? Thanks, Danny |

Re: Turbo. What is it?
Hi,
Turbo is short for Turbocharger as in automobile. The button was for slowing the processor in order to play older games that tended to run too fast to play on a modern computer. Doesn't happen much today as there is now a better method of setting the speed of programs that is not dependent on the processor clock speed. Jim |
