Red Faced [SOLVED] Plug and play probs with win98se reinstall on Tecra 8000

I had to format C: and reinstall Win 98SE on my Tecra 8000. I downloaded the Neomagic display driver. All of which works fine except for three plug and play alerts on start up. One is for a monitor and two 'unknowns'. I can find no way in device manager for disabling the WIN98 plug and play routines and alerts on start up as there is no 'monitor' tab in 'display', only a Neomagic tab with no PP disbale option. Please have you any ideas how I can solve these annoying alerts?

Re: Plug and play probs with win98se reinstall on Tecra 8000

Did you install motherboard drivers? Win98 is a plug and play operating
system. The only way to disable that is in bios, which I do not
recommend, you will have a fit with irq allocations. If you havent done
so install mobo drivers this may cure your issue......

Re: Plug and play probs with win98se reinstall on Tecra 8000

Hi geomur, Hi manic

Toshiba still offers downloads for the Tecra 8000 on their support site. Here's the link for the Windows 98/98se downloads --- http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...false&x=41&y=8

Two different NeoMagic drivers are offered, as well as the sound, network, modem, infrared port, mouse, power, system utilities, and the original User Guide from 1998.

Happy Holidays
. . . Gary
