shell32dll

I downloaded a file and cannot get it to execute. I get a message that export file SHELL32DLL:SHGetFolderPathA is missing. I do not know if I can download a file of that online. I did try to and ended up buying a subscription to a service called RegCure that seemed to be what I needed but alas after I scanned and repaired many errors, the file I tried to execute still gave me the same message and will not run. Any ideas?

Re: shell32dll

Hi Okieman70

Are you sure the program you downloaded is compatible with your version of Windows? Check the system requirements.

Best of luck
. . . Gary

p.s. ... there are many sites who offer bait-and-switch tactics, and also the use of "false positives" when scanning for malware or system mishaps --- the worst of these we classify as "rogue" software sites and the programs also fall into the "rogue" category. At present, we don't recommend Registry Cleaners in general. I have, in fact, only one Registry Cleaning software that I find both trustworthy and competent enough to recommend when a repair requires such a tool --- and this is CCleaner. It has a history of fine reviews and awards from Cnet, MaximumPC, PC World, etc. . . The program "RegCure", last time I checked, has had a number of questionable tactics associated with it = I'm not sure I'd trust it.
