Please help a computer moron!
I'm infected with sypware and addware.. I am the admin account, however I cannot access add / remove programs in control panel "due to restrictions." I apologize if this is the wrong forum and/or if this thread already exists. It's a bit important to fix this as soon as possible.
also, IExplorer keeps showing up in task mnger and sucking away my cpu usage. If any additional info is needed, I will be glad to provide it! Please pity me and help! |

Re: Please help a computer moron!
Hi Althor
Boot into Safe Mode, by tapping the F8 key as your computer powers on, and try accessing Add/Remove from there. Add/Remove, however, is only a mild first step in the removal of pests. Luckily many tools, and several helpful experts are available to help over in our Security forums. I'll link you to the 5-Step Security Checklist (some of the tools will be XP/Vista specific, so you'll just stick to the tools compatible with Win9x/Me). You'll notice advice for recommended tools to use in the future, as Internet-connected PCs now need to have firewall, antivirus, and antispyware protection. The 5-Step Security Checklist --- http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html Best of luck! . . . Gary
