AMD processor vs Win98 (USB Ports)

I can't seem to get my USB ports to work properly... I heard a rumor that Win 98 and an AMD processor sometimes do not work well together and I need a patch... Is this my problem? Help I can't download pics from my new Canon A95 camera.

WIN95 had a problem with K6 above 350mhz, which you had to load a patch for.
Never had a problem with Win98 & AMDs.
If there's USB issues, sounds more like it needs chipset drivers loaded.
Eg, Via 4in1, if it's a via chipset mobo (most common SS7 chip' ), etc.
Can you tell us the Mainboard model/brand, cpu speed, and if it's W98 orig, or 98SE ?

Try this Microsoft patch: USB Devices May Not Work in Windows 98 Second Edition.

Valtelino, I suggest a Google search next time, since my search for amd usb patch w98 turned up this pointer as the first hit. We strive for accuracy here.

Ooops! I stand corrected.
Thanks for the heads-up. I've done so many Win98 builds, I hadn't had to check my facts for years, but on reflection, it's probably been 12 months now since I did one, and it just shows you can get rusty without realising it.
My apologies everyone. :(
