Monitor system drops out?

Hi guys,i am running Win98se on a pentium4,2.4G,40gb.The system is less than 3 months old.Sometimes,online or not,the monitor screen goes blank.I press the reset button on the case,but nothing happens.If i pull the plug i can get it to reboot.Can anyone tell me what is happening?I have checked all power cords and connections.Thanks for any help.

Does it go blank even when you are working on something or when it's left alone for certain periods of time? If it's just doing this when left alone for certain periods of time, it could be that you set a system standby time. If not, I would see if you could replace the monitor.
