My System

Someone will reply if they know the answer, so please be patient. There are problems that are difficult to find a solution to, but yours should be pretty simple.

Click here and download the dll file. Unzip it. Rename that old SHLWAPI.DLL to something like SHLWAPI.OLD and copy the dll file you unzipped into that same folder. Restart and see if the problem is still there.

Pin same problem, in Win98se

my friend has the same problem in Win98se, but the solution you gave doesn't help because the computer can only boot to safe mode command prompt or dos command prompt. how can the .dll be repaired/replaced using one of those?

You can copy the DLL file to a floppy disk and copy it over that way.
