I am trying to install Win98 onto a PCMCIA datacard drive so I can then use the PCMCIA drive on a Fujitsu tablet computer. I thought I could install WIN98 on the PCMCIA drive it by connecting the PCMCIA drive to a laptop with Win98 on it and then boot from a CD drive with WIN98 SE and install WIN98 onto the PCMCIA drive. Unfortunately I have no way that I know of to tell WIN98 to load on the PCMCIA drive instead of the default C:.
Anyone have any ideas!!! |

I doubt the PCMCIA disk is bootable, so this effort is doomed to failure.

John,
That's an interesting response especially since a Fujitsu 1000 tablet computer only has a PCMCIA drive along with it's BIOS. Oh well, there has to be some way. Some one told me that Fujitsu tablets had WIN95 initially installed on them.

Try Fujitsu's web site:
http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Port...ch.do?srch=FAQ There is some related info there, but don't think it answers your question fully. |

I'll bow to your superior knowledge of this machine, I've never seen one. I've also never seen a bootable PCMCIA disk drive.
If this computer has the O/S embedded in FLASH, it might be able to access the drive, but I'll have to see something more concrete to believe it can boot from it.
