Bizarre pls help!!
LO all new here so be gentle, been working in pcs for a while haven't come across this before, here we go..
a friend of mine asked me to have a look at has constently crashing ME Pc that was crashing on (explorer has caused a fault in <unknown> explorer will now close) (amongst others) so after an initial inspection i told him to back up the important stuff as has the registry was screwed beyond belief,anyway so one reformat later an a as new pc operating system drivers as the unit initially came.. only to load a couple of progs and *bang* it's doing it again!!!!! can't be a virus has not been back on the net yet so how?? any way heres a couple of hjt logs one in safe mode one in normal can anyone help with this? If it is a "branded" pc (compaq, hp, etc) Go to the support site and download the newest drivers.
If it is a custom pc, then look for the motherboard drivers. Look under device manager to see what IDE controller is showing up. I will help you look if you can post this info. The video card make and model would be a big help also...

Go here:
http://support.dell.com/support/down...=19&l=en&s=dhs and enter the dell express service code to find the latest downloads and patches available. Also try Updating the windows from the Tools --> windowsupdates from IE if it boots up and stays running. The video drivers can be found at www.nvidia.com Get the latest drivers for that card.

Thanks for the back to basics advice (always a good move) think i cracked it went back re-checked all the drivers... one was not the original (the video drivers) as it turned out, so one update to the latest version later the system is networked again and running stable
thanks again for the advice always the simple things that take the longest
