Re: Linksys
Hi Deron
Wireless networking requires 1) a wireless signal (usually provided by a router or access point) and 2) a wireless adapter of some sort. I believe what you mean to say is that you have a Linksys wireless-G router that you've been connecting to with a wireless device built into your (now broken) laptop. [I'd guess the router is something like the Linksys WRT54G]. If your desktop computer has a wireless adapter, simply find out what make/model it is & download drivers for it from the manufacturer's website. The adapter should be listed in Device Manager in Windows. Go to the Control Panel, open the "System" applet, and --in Windows 9x/Me-- select the "Device Manager" tab [or--in Windows XP-- select "Hardware" and then "Device Manager]. Click on the plus [+] sign next to the category "Network Adapters" to view the make/model of your adapter. If you don't have a wireless adapter for the desktop, wireless USB adapters are very easy to install and quite inexpensive [PCI adapters tend to cost a little more]. _________ If I guessed wrong, and it's a Linksys USB wireless adapter that you've been using on your laptop, and now want to use it on your desktop, download the drivers for your model USB wireless adapter directly from Linksys --- http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...ypage=download Best of luck . . . Gary
