accidently deleted sound card

well i think i deleted my sound card n i tried everything to get it back but it aint work o yea n my sound card was aureal vortex i think but so i tried to reset system to an eariler time n it sed fail to reset so now im trying to reboot my system which i dnt kno how n im runnin windows me so can sumone please help me n tell me how to reboot my system or how can i get my sound card back

Just reinstall the soundcard drivers from your soundcard CD if it's an "add-on" card.
If it's an "on-board" card (built into the mobo), just reinstall the mobo chipset drivers from the mobo CD.
If that doesn't work, reinstall the drivers from the "restoration" CD that came with your PC.

well i dont have any cd's or any thing i had bought this cpu from a friend and he didnt give me any cd's or anything just the cpu

What make/model computer is it?

Is the sound card on-board, or a separate card?

well its a compaq mv720 and i think my sound card is on board
