I have a Getway Computer, with Windows ME. I was setting up my computer connecting the monitor, keyboard etc. I plugged everything in, However when I turned on my computer it made a really weird annoying beep coming from the tower. The monitor or keyboard did not respond. I disconnected everything and re-pluggled in several times, checked everything out and power outlets but only the to tower turns on and makes a noise. The monitor is connectd properly but It seems as though the monitor and key board are not communicating with the tower.
Please anyone please help . I need my computer on school started already.SBO6 |

If its beeping then thats the BIOS. If you havent got anything coming through to your monitor then the PC is seriously screwed up. Do you anything about the inside of a computer? have u ever taken one apart??
Write back and I'll answer you.

Making Beeps Help
Hi,
Your probably right I did some internet research about BIOS and the meaning behind the beeps. The one coming from my tower is a constent beep, I read some where it might be the power supply not to sure. But to answer your question I don't know much about computers or put one together. Any info or advice would really be appreciated. Thanks, SBO6

Sounds like you just moved this from another location. Hopefully it is just a card that is now loose in the computer. I would check inside and make sure everything is connected firmly. That sounds most probable at this point.

Tech in a sec is leading you in the right direction. Make sure to unplug all cables to the computer.
Once it is open you will see cards that plug into the mainboard. Push slightly on these to make sure they are firmly seated. If one of the cards is where the monitor plugs into (this is the one I believe is loose) push on it. Please only do this if you are comfortable dissassembling the computer! After you put it back together, try again.
