computer not remembering time and date.

When I power up my computer, (Compaq Deskpro Win 98), after being off overnight, I have to hit F1 a couple of times and reset the time and date. Any clues anybody?

Hi,

I would guess that your onboard battery is dead. They cost only about five bucks at a computer store and are easy to put in. Just make sure you get the new one in the same way you took it out.

I had the same problem just a while back and the same thing was happening. The battery was the problem.
