make sure that a virus hasnot removed all your protection.
Goto Trendmicro and follow the links for the Housecall Online Virus Scan. Otherwise, check in the program directory (usually C:\program files\symantec or C:\program files\norton internet security etc) and make sure that the EXE files are still present. Hope it helps George

Check your startup folder to see if they are still in there. You can find it on "Start" "Programs" then "startup." If they aren't there then you need to add them. Also, you can go to "Start" "Run" and type in "msconfig." This will take you to a program that can be used for troubleshooting. Go to the startup Tab and check to make sure these items are there and are checked. If not checked then you should check them. Try these things and let me know how it goes.

http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ click start ->run->type in msconfig the system configuration utility should open. click the general tab and select the option selective startup. click on the start up tab and look for norton auto protect and norton email protect, they should be unchecked so check them and click ok. now the system should ask you if you would like to restart the computer ,click yes after saving all your programs. after the system comes up again its gonna ask if you if you would like to continue in diagnostic mode or selective startup mode.click in the small box that says never show this message again and hit ok. you should now see the norton icons on the task bar. |
