I can't restart

Whenever I try to restart my comp, it just sits there and freezes up. It will not restart, eventually i just need to turn it off manually. What can i do to have it restart normally??

Did you install any new software or hardware lately? If you did, remove them to see if it fixes the probelm. Try booting into Safe Mode by restarting/rebooting your computer and hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up. Uninstall any programs you installed.
